L\u2019\u00e9tendue du d\u00e9partement &#8211; sixi\u00e8me par sa superficie en comptant la Guyane &#8211; en fait un paradis terrestre par sa diversit\u00e9. C\u2019est la rentr\u00e9e : terre de reprise avec d\u2019autres chemins, celui de l\u2019\u00e9cole comme du travail. Mais en ce mois de septembre, les Journ\u00e9es europ\u00e9ennes du patrimoine redonnent un bol d\u2019oxyg\u00e8ne et mettent du baume au coeur pour dig\u00e9rer les exc\u00e8s de l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9. Et cela tombe \u00e0 pic, l\u2019Aveyron dispose aussi d\u2019un patrimoine industriel hors du commun avec ses barrages hydro\u00e9lectriques dont la centrale de Mont\u00e9zic, v\u00e9ritable ciel ouvert sous la terre d\u2019une puissance \u00e9quivalente \u00e0 une centrale nucl\u00e9aire. C\u2019est ce chemin que nous vous proposons d\u2019emprunter \u00e0 la crois\u00e9e de ceux rendus n\u00e9cessaires par nos vies. Patrimoine naturel, industriel, mais aussi culturel avec des grands hommes qui tracent \u00e0 leur fa\u00e7on leur sillon en Aveyron. Si la commune voisine de Cajarc dans le Lot a (eu) son chef d\u2019Etat avec Georges Pompidou, l\u2019Aveyron a aussi son pr\u00e9sident de la R\u00e9publique. Val\u00e9ry Giscard d\u2019Estaing r\u00e9nove et anime son ch\u00e2teau d\u2019Estaing, fleuron d\u2019un des Plus Beaux Villages de France dont la carte postale est tout aussi incontournable que le virage qui longe le Lot pour offrir son panorama. Autre personnalit\u00e9, \u00e0 d\u00e9couvrir dans ce num\u00e9ro, Lionel Suarez qui donne une \u00e2me au piano \u00e0 bretelles et du souffle \u00e0 son fief de Berthol\u00e8ne.
